“Hoi An: My Journey Through Vietnam’s Enchanting Ancient Town”
When I planned my trip to Vietnam, Hoi An was at the top of my list. I had always dreamed of visiting a place that was ancient and picturesque, filled with beautiful cafes and restaurants, and historic buildings, and Hoi An was a perfect fit. Many people are unaware that Hoi An is also a beach city. It boasts a calm and quiet beach where you can swim and relax during sunset. From Hoi An Beach, you can also see Da Nang Beach in distance.

During my travels in Hoi An, I connected with a woman through Couchsurfing who was staying near the beach. We arranged to meet and spent some time there, enjoying a dip in the water, relaxing, and sharing our travel and life stories. I brought her some Indian snacks, which she loved. Afterward, she invited me to her home for a meal and then kindly dropped me back in town. Spending time with a local and listening to their stories offers a unique perspective about a place, which is something I truly appreciate when I travel.

I was staying in a budget hostel that was bustling with fellow travelers. They provided breakfast and served cocktails in the evening. Despite this, I felt lonely during my time in Hoi An. The city has a romantic atmosphere, and I usually find someone to talk to or spend time with, but that day I was completely alone. Eventually, I met a few guys, including one from India. Although he was young, he was working as an intern at a hotel. Listening to his enthusiastic stories was refreshing and helped lift my spirits.
I had one of the best bánh mì sandwiches in Hoi An, and there were many beautiful cafés. However, since I was on a budget, I couldn’t enjoy them fully. I did manage to find some delicious local food, though. I especially loved walking through the old town of Hoi An, both during the day and at night; it was truly beautiful. I would definitely recommend everyone to visit, although it is quite touristy, it is definitely worth it.
